About Lightt

With all the ways that we can now capture, share and consume information, it still often feels like we are communicating within the confines of a past century—from an era where media fit into distinct categories like text or photos or video.

We see Lightt as a new medium beyond those traditional categories. It creates a new experience that is unique to our mobile lives. It moves. It connects. It inspires people to notice the little moments as well as the big moments in our lives.

With Lightt you capture what you see in a new visual medium called a highlight.  As you capture and share with Lightt, one highlight connects to the next in a seamless moving stream, like an infinite timeline of your life and the lives of your friends.

How We Started

Remember the video that was really popular a few years ago with the guy who took a picture of his face everyday and put it into a movie? We were inspired by that and started trying different ways to capture images of his face and animate those images over time. We realized that faces weren't the only things that looked good in this new visual language we'd created—something different from either a single photo or a video.

Over the past year or so, we've grown into a small team that enjoys seeing the world a little differently. We're building Lightt as something that helps us connect with the people we care about.

We Are Both More and Less

Lightt is visual, social and very easy to use. A highlight is more than a single photo and quite different from a video because it compresses time and also connects moments together in a dynamic yet simple way. With Lightt there's no pressure for perfection. The highlights you take are life unfolding--spontaneous, genuine and honest.
